Manifesto

Why we built Mela

Can you remember the first time you went to a festival?

We can. It was a magical experience, in every sense of the word. As a kid you go to concerts, shows, parties, but experiencing a festival is a wholly different experience. The music, the people, the energy, the moment when your favorite artist drops that track and thousands of strangers become your best friends. Maybe like you, we were hooked from the first beat drop.

Unfortunately, as stories so often go, the magic fades with the logistics. Festivals start to feel overwhelming. Set time conflicts strike seemingly out of nowhere, your favorite artist moved stages and nobody told you. You're frantically screenshotting Instagram posts, juggling five different apps, losing your friends in the crowd, and missing moments trying to figure out where to be next.

While the newcomers around you marvel at the magic of live music, you're scrambling through a dozen apps and screenshots to make sure you don't miss that one set you've been waiting all year for.

We're festival nerds at heart. We built Mela so that we, and all the festival-goers around the world, could fall in love with the experience all over again. So we could have smoother festivals where everything we need is in one place, our crew is always connected, and the music is never interrupted by app-switching chaos.

We obsess over the little things: real-time set time updates, perfectly synced schedules with your crew, and quality design that gets out of your way (we want you dancing, not staring at your phone).

We'll worry about the details. You just have an unforgettable festival.
