Burning Man is a temporary city (Black Rock City) built in the Black Rock Desert of Nevada, dedicated to community, art, self-expression, and radical self-reliance. It is guided by 10 Principles, including radical inclusion, gifting, decommodification, radical self-reliance, radical self-expression, communal effort, civic responsibility, leaving no trace, participation, and immediacy. While music is a significant element, found at numerous theme camps and on art cars, Burning Man is not a traditional music festival with a curated central lineup. It is a unique cultural event and temporary community.
