Burning Man is a week-long large-scale desert event focused on community, art, self-expression, and self-reliance. Held annually in the Black Rock Desert of Nevada, participants create a temporary metropolis called Black Rock City. The event is guided by 10 Principles: Radical Inclusion, Gifting, Decommodification, Radical Self-reliance, Radical Self-expression, Communal Effort, Civic Responsibility, Leaving No Trace, Participation, and Immediacy. It is not a traditional music festival with a booked lineup, but rather a participant-driven culture where attendees create the art, music, and experiences.
