The Glastonbury Festival of Contemporary Performing Arts is a five-day festival held near Pilton, Somerset, England. It is the largest greenfield music and performing arts festival in the world and is a template for all festivals that have followed. In addition to contemporary music, the festival hosts dance, comedy, theatre, circus, cabaret, and other arts. It is known for its hippie ethos, counterculture roots, and iconic stages such as the Pyramid Stage.
Strong focus on sustainability including reducing waste (encouraging reusable bottles, no single-use plastic bottles sold), improving recycling, using renewable energy, protecting local wildlife, and promoting sustainable travel.
