Hardly Strictly Bluegrass is a unique, annual, free music festival held over three days in Golden Gate Park, San Francisco. It features a diverse array of artists spanning roots, Americana, funk, rock, soul, bluegrass, country, folk, indie blues, Dixieland, and zydeco. Founded in 2001 by Warren Hellman as a gift to the city, it remains non-commercial and unsponsored, fostering joy, creativity, freedom, peace, inclusivity, collaboration, love of music, mutual respect, and spiritual community. The festival is known for its relaxed, picnic-in-the-park atmosphere.
